Olympus Small DSLR - PEN E-P1

Oh my oh my, DSLR power at size of compact camera? Now Olympus has come out with a solution of powerful DSLR and HD Camcorder functions in 1 tiny camera body, officially with the model E-P1. Doesn't the white body looks nice and cool? I personally think so.

What about the feature? Not bad I would say (from the view of Canon 40D and 10D user)

  • 12.3 Megapixel Live MOS Sensor
  • Two new kit lenses (14-42mm M.Zuiko and 17mm F2.8 Pancake)
  • TruePic V image processor
  • 3.0" LCD screen (fixed, 230k dot resolution)
  • HD movies (720p) with stereo sound
  • Linear PCM sound recording
  • 3.0 fps sequential shooting
  • Built-in IS with max. 4 EV steps efficiency
  • Optional Adapters for all ZUIKO DIGITAL & OM lenses
  • Newly developed GUI for easier operation via Live Control
  • Automatic recognition of common scenes possible with i-Auto
  • Dual control dials
  • Face Detection & Shadow Adjustment
  • Art Filters, multi-aspect ratios, multi exposure
  • In-camera raw conversion (including application of Art Filters)
  • Small & stylish design
Below is the ISO test of the camera (full crop, not reduced). Someone in KL/PJ already tested it, from http://www.mycen.com.my

My verdict? At ISO 3200, it only lost little bit of details. but at ISO 6400, more details are lost and sharpness sure will decreased. If we see from overall view, the built in 4 stop stabilization is a winning point here.
